Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. Written in plain English, because legal pages that nobody can read protect nobody.
Last updated 7 September 2026
The short version. We collect the details you type into our contact form so we can reply to you, plus anonymous traffic statistics so we know which pages are useful. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever. If you want your details deleted, email John and it is done.
Who we are
JBrack Media is a web design and development business owned and operated by John Bracking, at 196 Elmwood Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, P6B 4W4, Canada. For any question about this policy, or to ask us to delete your information, email john@jbrackmedia.live.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out the quote form or email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in it. That is normally your name, your email address, your phone number if you supply one, your business name, and the message itself. We ask for these so we can answer you and prepare a quote. Nothing on the form is required beyond what we need to reply.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records anonymous statistics about visits: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visitor was, which site or search sent them, and what kind of device and browser they used. We use this to see which pages work and which do not. It is not used to identify you personally.
The third-party services we use
- Formspree delivers our contact form to our inbox. What you type in the form passes through their service.
- Google Analytics provides the anonymous visit statistics described above.
- The Meta pixel measures whether our Facebook and Instagram posts bring people to the site, and may be used to show our own ads to people who have visited.
- Hostinger hosts the website and keeps standard server logs.
Each of these companies handles data under its own privacy policy. We do not give any of them your information to use for their own purposes.
Cookies
The analytics and advertising tools above set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works fine without them; you will simply be invisible in our statistics, which is your right.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal information.
- We never rent, trade, or share your contact details with other businesses for their marketing.
- We never add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while we are talking and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Records tied to paid work are kept as long as Canadian tax and business rules require. Ask us to delete your information and we will, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Email john@jbrackmedia.live and you will get a real answer from a real person, normally within a business day.
Client websites
When we build and host a website for a client, any information collected through that website belongs to the client, and the client's own privacy policy governs it. We act only as the people who build and maintain the site.
Our internal tools and Google user data
JBrack Media runs private internal software that connects to the business owner's own Google account, using Google's official sign-in, to store encrypted off-site backups of our own business files in our own Google Drive. This is worth stating plainly:
- These tools are used only by JBrack Media, on JBrack Media's own account. They are not offered to the public and there is nothing for a visitor to sign in to.
- They read and write only files that JBrack Media itself created. They do not access any website visitor's or client's Google account.
- Data obtained through Google APIs is used solely to run and restore those backups. It is never sold, never transferred to anyone else, and never used for advertising or to train any AI model.
- JBrack Media's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
